Miller Union
Miller Union is named after the former Miller Union Stockyards that occupied one full city block in Atlanta’s old meatpacking district in the 1880s. The restaurant was founded in 2009 by Steven Satterfield and Neal McCarthy in the refurbished warehouse that sits on the former site and has since contributed to the evolution of the neighborhood. They created a rustic, yet modern atmosphere with a respect for the history of the neighborhood, and an anchor for the emerging one. Miller Union has since become an Atlanta mainstay.
Madeira Park — Coming Soon
Scheduled to open in early 2025, Madeira Park is the first newproject for James Beard Foundation Award-winning chef Satterfield and business partner McCarthy, 2023 recipient of the Michelin Guide’s Service Award, since the opening of their acclaimed Miller Union in 2009. This is the first brick-and-mortar venture for Willard with the Miller Union partners. Named for the historic moniker of the Atlanta neighborhood, Madeira Park was once the centerpiece of Atlanta’s garden suburb community of Copenhill. As the city grew, Madeira Park was absorbed by Poncey-Highland, and the name became obsolete. Honoring history, and the contemporary, thriving neighborhood, Madeira Park represents the collective vision of the three partners. Satterfield and McCarthy have been cornerstones of Atlanta’s culinary community since opening Miller Union, earning critical and popular acclaim including multiple James Beard Foundation Award nominations. Willard, meanwhile, has more than three decades in the hospitality and wine industry. He is an advanced sommelier and his popular wine bar pop-up DIVE has been operating throughout the city since 2023.
